CW played DE when we had lack of depth. He has the skill to play anywhere on the line it’s only for depth reasons and he probably still will play some DT

If you watch Pwoo this season and say he sucks at DE I’ll eat my words. I’m willing to bet he plays well at DE.

Woods and Parker are our two best pash rushers. Only makes sense to get them on the edge not to mention that we have more depth at DT. Starters are great at DE and LB but it drops off fast with back ups. Fingers crossed that injuries are kept to a minimum at these spots.

With some of the skill players coming in lighter hoping this translates into more speed. What would be good to see also would be last year weight room numbers to this year. GO TIGERS.

Antonio Williams is 8lbs lighter and Cole Turner is 2lb lighter. 2 of the fastest guys on the team.
However, Jay Haynes was 185 last year and he's 200 this year. If it's all muscle and he didn't loos speed, then he's setting him self up nicely.

Crazy what the walk on party of the program really is.
I hope we can play like a few games back in the day, at home, and all these no names get to make some plays because we're up so much against the opponent!

That fella from Greer is 6'9" 364, sure he wants to get the chance to road grade in some blowouts.

He wasn't even a PWO, he was a tryout kid. I wonder if he actually had to do any reps in the tryout of if the coaches just saw him walk-in at 6'9" 364 and said "yeah we'll take you."

Randel at 231 is pretty nice if that’s good weight. He’s really going to be hard to bully and be a force when going up and fighting for the ball. Also Moore gaining 9 and wesco 12 is very nice. I wanna see big 355 Pennington making some holes this year!! Luke was talking good about him this off-season so maybe he hs recovered from the acl and with actual coaching hopefully he’s made a big leap. Go Tigers!!!

to weigh less than 220 lbs.(& run sub 4.4s in the 40) With that much muscle mass, you sacrifice some stamina and short area quickness. 'Olympian' body type on a WR is known to be tightly wound, constricted therefore possibly more vulnerable to injury, although there is no sample size for the assertion. I would bet that converted to muscle, which methinks is a scarier Mafah coming down the chute into linebackers at full speed.

What stood out to me is that a lot of the DL and DEs have gained weight and a lot of the OL are coming in slightly lighter than the last weighing. Not all, but enough to look like a trend for both groups. I hope this means the OL have been working on footwork and quickness because it seemed like last year there were a lot of times opposing defenders ran by our OL right off the snap. And I can’t wait to see our big DLs clogging up the middle and DEs and LBs making a lot of plays in the opponent’s backfield.
Spot the daggum ball!

As Dabo said thats at like 5% body fat, meaning he is a walking running muscle. I'm sure he is where the coaches want him considering in that clip Dabo called him out by name in an impressed way.

Randall has always been a weight room example and a "first guy off the bus" type. I want to see something, anything, on the field. Until then he's a bodybuilder in pads.

Ian Reed lost a lot of weight. Will that translate to him being quicker, more athletic in the line? What we would really like to know is the target weight set by coaches and trainers and how close the players came to that. Woods gained 4 lbs, but if he has not lost any speed, it will not hurt him at DE.

Per Dabo's spring report he has some sort of chronic issue he's been dealing with since childhood. We should know something once Fall camp gets rolling about where he is health wise this year

Depending on the final depth chart...
Leigh -6 Tate -9 Linthicum -3 Parks -6 Miller +4
Overall by my maths looks like we lost a net -8 lbs across the unit, with an average weight of 304.4lbs.
At first blush [general across the corps, not just the starters] it looks like the guys who needed more agility/speed/footwork improvements slimmed down, and we put some meat on the lighter doods.

Seems like we're going with more agility on the O-line this year, they gotta be able to move. Probably going more up-tempo this season and running the ball alil more.

Historically we've been an undersized unit. We've had talent for sure but a lot of that has not come with size that carried over to the next level. I remember when we played the bucknuts in their (6) game season to playoff, the announcers mentioned our average line size was something like 2-3 inches and 20-25 lbs less than that of the OSU O-line.
I think Matt Luke knows where to get the meat, and the last round of recruiting has shown us reaching beyond 3-Stars in the Carolinas for some corn-fed boys.
I think the days of Clemson's OL = Oompa Loompa's is quickly coming to an end; no disrespect to previous teams at all, O-Line is the most undervalued critical position and we have had a lot of Bad-A dudes come in and fight above their weight.

In the past 20 years, Clemson has seen a total of 16 offensive linemen drafted or signed to NFL teams. As of 2024, only four of these former Clemson offensive linemen are currently on NFL rosters, and only 2 of those 4 are starters for their respective teams.
Our OL has been problematic… forever.

Would have thought you want some more bulk and muscle for durability. Coming in early and getting the off season weight program I didn't think he would have dropped weight.

He needed to add weight only being 170 coming into the spring. With his height 12 pounds is not a lot and prob bulked up some to play college.

Dabo said he was in the 160s when he got here. 12 lbs of good weight is a lot for someone with that frame.
Tee Higgins plays on Sundays about 40 lbs heavier than when he was a senior in high school and it's taken him 7-8 years to get there. Wesco might not even sniff 200 lbs until he's 21-22 years old, assuming he's only adding good weight.
