ACC should grow a pair and tell ND to hit the bricks.

If they won't join for football, then they have no say in matters of expansion or anything else.

Yep screw ND. Hoping we pound them in the Valley this season.

And Clemson should make their fans as unwelcome as ND made ours!! Horrible seating and horrible people and Clemson needs to reciprocate.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

YOu had a bad experience there?

Aug 10, 2023, 9:32 AM

I didn't go to the game but the reviews I read were all positive.

It was awful. The game the weather etc etc. Miserable town except for the campus which quite frankly was average. I drove down from MN and was disappointed in the experience. The stadium was nice though.

unfortunately we need them for strength of schedule purposes

They help in those seasons where every other ACC team has no pulse and all the media outlets are trying to shove us out the door. Whether you like it or not a Notre Dame win helps boost our rankings b/c of their brand recognition.

You want each ACC school to give up $2M in annual revenue plus the five premium games which they desperately need every year based on your feelings? How would you plan to make up for the lost revenue? I guess we could fire Coach Riley and break even.

I never understood why so many hate on ND

1

b/c they don't belong to the ACC, or any other conference.

We would sign up for their TV deal (60 million a year) in a heartbeat if we could.

Plus, we get extra revenue, more recognition and stronger strength of schedule when we play them. Would our TV contract go up if Notre Dame joined the ACC full time. Maybe, At this point, I'm not sure ESPN could afford to pay it, even if the numbers justified it.

Swofford brokering a deal to let them join in everything BUT football has been like watching a train-wreck from the start.

It was always a win-win for ND with very little upside for Clemson. Letting them play a full schedule after COVID without making them join as full members was an act of total absurdity only the ACC could have pulled off.

Beating them in the ACC Championship game was pretty sweet. If they would've won we would have never heard the end of it.

Your post shows you have zero understanding of the facts. Maybe less than zero if that’s possible

Who's this guy?

Why not try posting something of actual value vs. just criticizing and coming off like someone who has no concept?

Speaking of less than zero...does that also double as a reference for your IQ? :)

Notre Dame is so close to Michigan

Aug 10, 2023, 8:01 AM

It's like UGA and Clemson . It makes zero sense for them to be in different conferences.

ND has a football only contract tied to the GOR with the ACC

Aug 10, 2023, 8:15 AM

to play 5 ACC teams per year, so to kick them aside, you have to break the contract. Break the contract and the whole GOR blows up

Notre Dame is in and until they leave, that will not change.

I found an ACC press release from when the ACC bylaws were amended in 2020. It seems to indicate that was the start of a 15 member Board with one vote each. Does anyone recall if ND had a full membership vote prior to 2020?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

ACC needs ND more than ND needs the ACC currently.***

As long as the North Carolina schools are in the ACC,

Totally agree

Should have never let them in to start with without football.

With ND supporting the move with Cal and Stanford maybe another opportunity to have ND become full-time in FB. With that should come a new TV deal. Not saying we would be at Big or SEC payout but close the gap.
