give Trump 2 thumbs up for the effort there - but many people (US Presidents included) have tried and failed. We'll see.

That he's been a failure to US citizens managing the economy and government overall, and is doing his best to stoke hostilities among our citizenry, bringing out the worst in people instead of the best, shouldn't take away from today's accomplishment.

Time will tell what emerges regarding the Palestinians fate. While media focuses on the hostages, almost 70,000 Palestinians were killed and an estimated 150,000 injured. 90% of the structures were destroyed or damaged. That degree of devastation will not easily be forgotten even with massive reconstruction efforts. The motivation for “retribution” among Palestinians will be great for decades. I don’t think terrorism has ended _ and both Israel and the US will remain targets.

He's been very involved with this - so absolutely. Hopefully it will last and will not ultimately drag us into more military conflict in the Mideast

Probably some, sure. From what I can tell, he took a two pronged approach.

One was to tell Net and Yahoo to stand down, or lose your security. On the other side, Trump, with the help of his autocrat friend running Turkey, basically told Hamas to stand down, or they'd be eliminated.
Jews and Muslims will remain bitter enemies for 1,000 more years though, and as long as Israel remains a state, they will keep fighting.
So anyway, yeah, congrats on stopping the killing. But I'm not thinking for a second Trump somehow ushered in a Mideast peace between Israel and Hamas.

Other than the fact that he enabled a genocide

Millions of people displaced, hundreds of thousands either dead or maimed, including tens of thousands of women and children.
He let Netanyahu do what ever the hell he wanted, and didn’t give a flying #### about hostages.
The fact this guy thinks he deserves a peace prize is just icing on the cake. Completely deranged sociopath.

Trump not only let Netanyahu do it, he backed him to the hilt with money and weapons, while saying anyone in the US who opposed trying to starve the Palestinians to death was an antisemite or worse. This world has gone mad.

I’m happy about the hostages being released and happy for their families. Copper coat gets credit for that. There will never be lasting peace in that area. This will be temporary but at least it’s stopped for now. I know the magats think that only their cult leader could have achieved this 😏. It dragged on much longer than it should have since we were told it would end on day one back in January. I have never heard understood and still don’t understand the love for Israel. I don’t wish them any harm but since we’re their big defenders and give them billions of dollars for defense we should have the final word on what they do. Benj needed to be controlled and should have been a lot sooner than he was.

For Christians/Evangelicals the reason for Israeli support is rooted in end of times prophecy. For the 2nd coming 2/3 of the Jews must die and the final 1/3 must convert.

Well we know the second coming means nothing to that heathen Trump so what’s in it for him? There’s has to be something. Praise? Nobel peace prize? His Jewish son in law and converted daughter’s appreciation? Appeasing his evangelical voters who put him in office? Future Business opportunities?

Depends. I’m very happy for the families that will get reunited with their loved ones and glad the killing has stopped (for now). However, if Trump and/or his family or businesses end up benefitting in some way, then no…no credit. People who do ‘nice’ things just to make themselves look good and/or for personal gainb deserve no credit.

It’s just too much for them to face the undeniable fact that neither Obama nor Biden’s handlers could come up with a meaningful foreign policy victory, with the sole exception being Obama’s decision to OK the killing of Osama bin Laden.
Libya overthrown under Obama, a catastrophe and victory for Al Kaeda.
Egypt and pushing out Mubarak so that the Muslim Brotherhood could take over Egypt? No thanks to Obama, Egypt’s military took matters into their own hands and evicted Muslim Brotherhood before Egypt became a giant Somalia.
Russia’s first invasion of Ukraine? Obama was sitting on the toilet ogling GQ Magazine.
I won’t start on Biden, other that he went 0 for Afghanistan, Ukraine, Israel / Gaza.
