That is the best Clemson blog post I have ever read. Agree 1,110%.

Not sure if beating LSU is a good measure of what it means to be an SEC team since SEC teams are 5-21 against LSU over the last three seasons.

that was so very homeriffic***

Does that me we should recruit like one and get rid of or our academic advisory committee and take recruits regardless of their academic background like the SEC. Or discipline like the SEC,i.e. our neighbors instate?

Dead On Mr. Rhymer

Dec 26, 2012, 3:13 PM

Only by kicking the best of the SEC in the teeth can our Clemson Tigers stake any claim to being SEC quality. LSU is every bit as physical as Alabama. Clemson's biggest win over highest ranked opponent was Sagarin #63 Ga Tech (Va Tech #66 NCSU #67).

An LSU win would be a major achievement for this team and would no doubt be an upset ... but based on LSU's lack of Offensive consistency and with some good breaks ... who knows?

Whether we are ever offered SEC membership - that is a different more speculative question as you eloquently stated. Go Tigers!

I have had several requests to upload blogs to podcasts

Dec 26, 2012, 3:56 PM

Over time, this seems to be a request that keeps coming back to me.

Here is my first attempt at it. Still not sure how it will all fit and/or whether people want to hear what is written.

But, check it out and give me some feedback.

I have zero intertest in being an SEC type team

Dec 26, 2012, 6:40 PM

Id rather be an ACC powerhouse anyday

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I thought when we beat Auburn in 2011, and took them to OT

Dec 26, 2012, 7:07 PM

the year they won the national title, and all those years we dominated Usuc, and beat Top 5 UGA teams that we were already playing that way.

Just MHO.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Agreed. Until we consistently go undefeated in the ACC, why worry

Dec 26, 2012, 7:11 PM

about the conference?

We can't lose the "big game" in the ACC race and then pi$$ and moan about being in a "weak" conference.

This year, we had every opportunity to play like we belonged in the SEC. And failed. We couldn't win the ACC, never mind competing in the SEC.

But, fortunately "Next Year" definitely starts New Years Eve in Atlanta.

Go CLEMSON TIGERS!

Absolutely spot on. Well said.***

Play like one? Like Auburn, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas,

Dec 27, 2012, 12:30 AM

Ole Miss, Miss State, Missouri, Vanderbilt?

Re: Play like one? Like Auburn, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas,

Dec 27, 2012, 12:33 AM

That is the bottom half of the conference...

Shall I name the worst 8 members of the ACC and see how they stack up?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He said play like an SEC team, he didn't say play like

Dec 27, 2012, 12:54 AM

an SEC team that also happens to be a nationally ranked team. That is the problem, people say the SEC, but the SEC isn't just the top teams in the SEC. The SEC is also Auburn, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Miss. State, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Missouri.

He said SEC team, not the top 6 teams in the SEC.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Had we played like the SEC team we were facing on Sept. 1

Dec 27, 2012, 1:06 AM

we would have been 0-1.
