Hard to blame Krieger for freezing on a breaking ball after all those hard fastballs.

Sucks to lose this one, but at least we went down with some heart. Gotta use that momentum to win out of the loser's bracket now.

Everyone in my house yelled "that was a ball" as soon as the ump rung him up, and we don't complain much about balls and strikes

Thought Vetzel's pitch on the 3-2 count was strike three. Good pitch that wasn't called. Walk vs. K was a big difference there. Krieger's pitch was nowhere as close. Absolutely a ball four.
