And I guess this would be a pretty good team, but it sucks that they lost to USC.

No Clemson team will ever, in my book, be considered a "top 5 in Clemson History" team if we lose to South Carolina. Defeating South Carolina is a pre-req for this.

Who never lost to teams that he shouldn't lose to..
Oh, wait... What happened in '88? Wasn't that NCSt??
What about '89?? OH THAT'S RIGHT, that was a Spurrier coached DUKE team...
Point is, quit b!tching about Dabo. I love(d) Danny as much as the next guy, but if the guy could have handled HIS business against NCSt we would have had at least 2 more MNC's.

What other coach could you make this statement about
I was pi***d about the losses also, but no-doubt Ford was our best coach Even though that Duke game was one a fluke— they were ACC Co-Champs ex. 5 interceptions, but fumbled 3 of those interceptions on the return
You guys that like to bring up Ford losses never mention one game that was pitiful— GaTech @ Homecoming in maybe 88 or 89
Still our best coach and best teams

is that even the BEST coaches at times have those ### games. Dabo didn't have any this year. Good for him, maybe that means we've gotten over the hump of losing to inferior talent for the forseeable future. If those that's great!!
NOW let's just hope he and his staff have the smarts to figure out how to consistently play with and beat the big boys. If he does, we my friend are on to something.
But yes, Danny Ford may be the Bret "The Hitman" Hart of Clemson football coaches. If you need that explained, go youtube Bret Hart promos.

Remember watching you guys against NC State during Danny's tenure and you were running the option right down their throat. TV showed Danny on sideline and he was screaming, "run it again"!!! Wasn't nothing State could do about your fb running right at them.
Don't think this years team could have handled Danny's best teams, d-line were made of men and your lb's were just plain nasty. Danny did seem to lose 1-2 games he shouldn't but in big games his teams were tough.

The 2003 team would destroy this one.
Leroy Hill, Tye Hill and Justin Miller would have career days.
Not to mention what the 03 offense would do to that defense.
