Really, they never have contributed much, except a season or 2 in basketball. They will not be missed, and their fans certainly won't be.

I didn't remember that, and I'm sure you're right. I just never thought of them as much of anything to be proud of, although I do think they rank academically pretty high. Their fans hide any real class they might possess.

They routinely kicked our #### in the 60's. Randy White, Bob Avellini, and the first black player in the ACC, Daryl Hill who I saw when they came to DV. They were feared then and the class of the ACC.

They've got nothing in common with the Big 10 schools and will probably get hammered in many sports going forward. Only good thing for Terrapin fans is that the University of New Jersey sucks even more than Maryland does.

Probably works out better for them in football and baseball. They'll probably dominate in soccer and lacrosse.
