####!

I wasn't able to watch, but going off stats...

Dec 18, 2022, 4:01 PM

Seems like if Mariota played Falcons probably win? Not that it matters really, and long-term Mariota isn't our #1, but just for this one game it seems like he would have made a difference.

But I didn't watch so I might be wrong.

Ridder never threw a pick, we ran the ball well.

Dec 18, 2022, 4:02 PM

He seemed to have better connection with Drake. Our D needs help.

Only giving up 21 points isn't awful in today's game...

Dec 18, 2022, 4:07 PM

and didn't the DC get hurt in pregame? Was he able to come back and call the game?

I saw on twitter some saying that Ridder threw multiple balls that should have been picked and his stats are pretty awful anyways. Seems like a viable passing game to go along with that running game would have probably led to more points, but maybe not.

I feel like the team is just so injured right now there's not much they can do on either side of the ball.

He went to hospital, was released for trip home.

Dec 18, 2022, 4:09 PM

D gave up 14 in like the first 3 minutes. I don't believe Mariota would have done any better, in fact worse. Plus he is done so it doesn't matter anyway.

Hope he'll be okay...

Dec 18, 2022, 4:17 PM

I'm not saying the defense was perfect, and they started awful but they only gave up one touchdown for the last three qtrs and overall only gave up 21 points on the road. I think we'd probably take that pregame.

The problem is this offense can't score. We scored 18pts, 16pts, and 13pts in the last three games and that ain't gonna cut it.

How in the world did we beat the 49ers and score 28 points against them, lol?

D wins games.***

You don't win games without scoring points***

Dec 18, 2022, 4:27 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

D can score points too.

Dec 18, 2022, 4:28 PM

Why do you think Falcons D is so good?

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-beeksteak-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If we're relying on that to score points, we in trouble.***

Creating turnovers helps.

Dec 18, 2022, 4:31 PM

Also not giving up a ton of yards in the air and on the ground.

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-beeksteak-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm not arguing against defense being important...

Dec 18, 2022, 4:35 PM

or that the falcons even have a good defense (we don't), I'm just talking about today's game where it seems it was lack of offense that was worse (even if just slightly) as has been the case in the last few games.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

lol it was a rookie qb first start.

Dec 18, 2022, 4:37 PM

also need OL

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-beeksteak-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

so a veteran presence might have made the diff?

Dec 18, 2022, 4:40 PM

we've come full circle now, lol.

(we need everything)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Mariota wasn't an option. lol***

True, and I hate that he just left the team...

Dec 18, 2022, 4:48 PM

still doesn't mean his absence (in whatever capacity) due to his benching didn't have an effect on the game.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Drake's fault

Dec 18, 2022, 4:53 PM

nother rookie. Also, how about Allgeir's season? Not too far behind William Andrews rookie #'s.

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-beeksteak-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Certainly have some bright spots like Allgeier's season

Dec 18, 2022, 5:11 PM

and this season was always going to be a rebuilding year so I'm not that disappointed. Hopefully, we can get and stay healthy next year and keep building on those bright spots (and hope that Ridder progresses).
