with news media, parents, and fans throwing around all kinds of accusations. Sark is trying to defend Texas's culture and throwing out the "136 teams in Division 1" quote. Bama fans are hoping for DeBoer to fail.
UGA is mad at Kirby for losing to Bama. PSU has had it with Franklin. Florida is mad that they won Saturday and may have to keep Napier. It's everywhere you look.
It makes me really appreciate the positive and encouraging culture we have here at Clemson and on TNet. Never take that for granted!
Win or lose, I know I can always count on you guys!

A couple of brief follow up points

1) Coaching staffs across the country are having a difficult time assembling a team of HS recruits and portal players, motivating them after they get paid, coaching / developing those players into a cohesive and coordinated team.
2) College football has significantly deteriorated in terms of player effort and execution. It’s going downhill.

The vast majority of 18 - 22 year olds are not mature enough to be getting paid that kind of money. It's not good to pay people more than they are worth. There are consequences for doing that.

It’s the best football on the planet. There are no bones made about it being a job. There is no charade in being a student. And there is a salary cap to keep things fair.

There’s plenty of evidence the NFL is having the same problems. Brady and Manning had a conversation about preparation falling off among NFL QBs. I’ll try to find it and post it. The more money these guys make the less they try now. Once they get that big pay day they fall off.

Great Post. I may share my opinion on what I think but will never spew poison out on our Clemson Tigers and their coaches. If you have only been a tiger for the last 10 years you probably have not been in the ups and downs of Tiger Football. Pay for play has disrupted Dabo’s model but he will figure out another model that is acceptable for his belief system and ours. Clemson is a very unusual University and I personally like it that way.

the players were having fun. Also, the fans seemed into to me as well. Not sure where you’re hearing that (but I don’t doubt it). But if you ask me, UF AD was right to keep Napier. He’s getting the recruits… things will start to fall in place I bet.
Bama can chill. Saban ain’t coming back.
UGA tired of Kirby is the most preposterous one of them all.
Franklin is a bum and has been a bum since day 1.

There are some fans at FSU that are seriously saying we should fire Norvell and bring Jimbo back. I won't bore you with the details, but that would be even more remarkable if Clemson fans were saying to fire Dabo and bring Hatfield back.
Fans, with very good reason, were overjoyed when Jimbo left for aTm. We loved his abysmal failure, and subsequent firing, at aTm. Now, many of those same fans are saying, "Fire Mike; hire Jimbo!"
Bipolar or manic-depressive - whatever you want to call it - it is a universal affliction of fans of every team.

And this will continue because there is more parity in college football than ever before. Any school can pick up the right pieces from the portal and go from good to champion if they can stay healthy in any given season. Any great team can also lose players to graduation or the portal and fall drastically from year to year. This is the new world order of college football.
