Is global cooling on the horizon? SC having a mild temperature

Summer by all accounts. Halfway through August and haven't even broken 100deg in the Upstate yet?! Thats crazy! Forecasts for the remainder of the month are for more 80deg days than 90deg ones...should be good for the football team!! Though I think Dabo has said before that he likes it really hot in August for conditioning purposes!
Are these milder Summer-time temps this year forecasting a cooler winter with possibly some actual snow? Not holding my breath on this one...but it be an incredibly awesome experience if we were one day able to see the Tigers play at home in the snow!!

Maybe there is something to that. It is only 103 right now here in Phoenix. That may sound bad to some but hey, it ain't 115!

I'm sorry but local weather patterns are only allowed to be used to confirm the presence of global warming. Otherwise it's just bad science.

It cracks me up when religious people use the term “religious” in the pejorative.
Self aware I suppose.

So is this like how in a microwave some areas can be really hot and some a little cool if you don't heat food long enough?
If thats the case, and if Upstate SC observations this Summer are true...what would make Upstate SC respond in this way? And can you show consistent data where SC temperatures on the net trail worldwide temps?

Have you voluntarily paid more taxes yet? Because, you know, we're "fighting for the survival of the earth" and stuff. And paying more taxes is the main way to combat it. Billionaire John Kerry has told me this. LOL.

the composition of our atmosphere was entirely different 145 million years ago than it is today. The reason Dinosaurs got as big as they did is because our atmosphere was denser with oxygen. If Jurassic park were real, the t-rex would be laying on his side with labored breathing.

It has gone from 10% to over 30% throughout time. However, that has nothing to do with temp. Nice non sequitur.

Questioning “The Science” is no longer part of the scientific method, but is a criminal act designed to destroy all life on the planet and/or stop the elites from reaping their “green energy” lucre. Either way, it’s very bad.

I grew up in the lowcountry. It’s called summer. I remember about 1985 or maybe 86, we lived in Florence and had 18 straight days over 100 with no rain, then it rained one day and was mid 90s, then we went for another 13 straight days over 100. Farmers in KY were sending hay to the farmers in SC because it was too hot and dry to grow any here. This isn’t anything new or unusual.

I remember this. I worked construction during my summer break, building the Mack Truck plant in Winnsboro. I was building and placing forms for the buildings footers. Absolutely no shade. I remember this kid paying very close attention to the evening weather report.

Only wackos believe there is some imaginary man in the sky controlling the weather. Nothing nuttier than that. Is a man a factor on the climate? Maybe. One thing for sure is there not some man in the clouds controlling the weather.

It might be worth looking into the Dew Point that has been
3

going on lately. I'm not all that hip on it other than when the temp gets below it there's fog or frost. Apparently at 70 as a measure (combo of heat and humidity in a sense) it's at the internal / external human body point of stasis. Above, and we've been mid-70's regularly, it's the big nasty.
It has a lot to do with relative humidity in the air, extra moisture about, but not rain necessarily. If you check out some historical data on it, we have been well over norms this summer, kinda bigly, though the temperature has been largely in line for our normal dog days. Dew Point is really where the 'feels like' effect kicks in, and it looks like it's setting records.
As it's related to moisture content in the air, that's going to help suppress temperature as the extra moisture on top reflects some heat rays that would have otherwise gotten through.
It's no coincidence that the first reported professional case of Swamp ### has made the rounds with Lucas Glover this past weekend in similar conditions in Memphis, TN.
Go Tigers.

Began working in downtown Chlt in May 1986 and remembered it was very hot a couple months later getting over 100 for consecutive days. Couldn't recall just how many days so searched it. The record was 5 days July 17 - 21, 1986. The next record was 3 days set July 11 - 13, 1986. Was certainly brutal walking from the office four or five blocks to one of the area parking lots in a shirt and tie, carrying a suit coat and briefcase. Just three months prior, had a reserved space at our operations center off Roper Mtn Rd close to the entrance. Previous period of 3 days was June 22 & 24, 2015. Was very nice to have a relatively cool May and part of June here north of Chlt.

100* days are rare in the upstate. To get there you have to be 10+ degrees above normal. June and July may not have been terrible, but August has been extremely hot.

SC has had a slightly mild summer by our standards. I’m 59 and have done outdoor work my entire life. We’ve had very few days that were intolerable.
