4* Receiver too good to pass up?

Why is it, a 4* receiver is “too good to pass up”, “sign‘em regardless”, but when you have four 5* DB’s interested, it would be good if we get one?
I want all 4 — Fuller, Hargreaves, Alexander & Bell
Probably not gonna happen, but I’d still try like H3ll. All 4 are interested.
One recruit service has all 4 in top 25 regardless of position, top 50 regardless of position in another service.
If all four wanted to sign, aren’t they too good to pass up?

so to me, get all those defensive backs, lots of OL and DL, and LB's. Reserve OL can sub as quarter back and RB. Only need one or two WR's, so we don't need many.

For Clemson right now, no, because we are already stacked at WR. I don't think we would take all four DB either, just take the two you have the best shot at, Fuller and Alexander, and maybe if they had the room Bell, I think we have very little chance with Hargreaves III, as he already favors a top 5 which he will probably pick out of.

I’d be happy w/3, but I’d pursue all 4. It would be a matter of what degree of happiness on a scale of 1-4. 0 would not be happy

Yeah Hargreaves has a top 5. That WE are IN. I think we have a very good chance to get him, he'll wanna come play with all our top talent.

I don't think anyone has said that those guys aren't too good to pass up. However, with only signing 1 WR last year, we probably need to sign 3 this year because in 2014 we lose Sammy and Nuk. I also don't think we have that great of a shot with Hargreaves or Bell, unfortunately.

Would Sammy or Hopkins not be he// on a defense out of the backfield every once in a while?

Usually, when someone says a prospect is "too good to pass up", they of course are talking about the numbers in a class maybe being too tight normally, or a position class is already full, but you go ahead and "over-sign" the prospect, finding a way to make room for him.
But in those cases, the important thing is that the prospect is interested in signing with your program, otherwise the point is moot.
As for the other scenario, when someone says they hope they get one out of a group of highly rated prospects, then usually that's at a point in their recruitment that none of them are very high on your program, in terms of interest. There may not be a chance that you can get even ONE of them, much less ALL of them. In those cases, you hope that you luck out and hook at least ONE of them for your class....
That's how I'm reading your above scenario....if ALL the WR prospects and ALL the DB prospects are equally interested in your program, and the interest is high, then other conditions will apply. If one of those positions are already full with quality, young players, then you can afford to turn away several of the prospects for that position.
Personally, if I take your scenario literally, and the DBs are truly 5* quality talent, then that would mean that they are nationally elite, "blue chip" talent, and I'd try to find a way to squeeze them ALL into the class if I can. 4* talent is elite talent, but 5* is supposed to be the "elite of the elite", or of the "program-changing" type prospects. You very rarely pass those up...
