For starters, everyone should use the composite rankings since it takes in every recruiting service's player rankings. It paints a more accurate picture of each recruit.
But, stop comparing every 3 star recruit to each other. They aren't the same. The 400th ranked player and the 2000th ranked player could both be 3 stars. When looking at 3 star recruits, it's much better to compare their offer lists. Some 3 star recruits have a dozen or more P5 offers while others have 0 P5 offers. Comparing those 2 are silly. Stop being silly.

Thoughts on the safety? The fact he was 6A All conference makes me believe he's probably pretty good but I haven't looked yet.

6A is a big boy conference. He's probably good and I would expect he will RS and be a major contributor at some point.

Haven’t watched his tape yet.
I have to assume the coaches view him as someone that can play at this level, even if it’s only as a backup.

But can we also say that there have been many instances in which the 2000th ranked player has performed better in his career than the 200th ranked player?
I don't know if you watch NFL much but there is a segment in the game where the players all introduce themselves and the university they attended. There are a SHOCKING amount of starting players that are from schools like Indiana, Rutgers, Wyoming, Coastal Carolina etc
Not saying that it's always the case or even the case most of the time that a lower ranked player performs better but I think it happens enough to where we shouldn't bash a kid or say they are busts just bc they aren't a 5star being recruited by UGA, Bama or Michigan
What matters most of all is the evaluation being correct and filling your needs. But I do agree that the comparisons don't necessarily provide a clear picture

But under false pretenses: Not all ratings services go to all the camps. And not all scouts report to the same ratings services. So no, I don't buy the premise of your argument. At all. And neither do our recruiters, by the way.

Just watched the highlights, gotta find a full game.
Dudes going to play the lb/safety hybrid position. He's 100% effort and a hammer. Looks fast enough to play safety, tracks the ball well, hips don't move crazy well but if he's more of an in the box guy don't see this being an issue. I'd wager he picks up a star after final rankings come out(I can't remember when those come out.)

I saw the same. Not enough swivel in the hips to turn and play corner but I can see him as a safety/hybrid nickel back....Tanner Muse type of player.

When Clemson went on their great run they found a bunch of great 3 stars. They also didn't miss on their 4-5 stars. The evaluation of talent has not been as good the last few years.

What are you talking about. Last 3 stars and the new LB commit are great.
