Otherwise, we're just letting punts bounce and roll until they stop dead inside the 5-yard line. After taking stock of our current walk-on punt-catchers, it looked like we were going to come up short. I mean, it's not like we're going to trust a 4 or 5 star athlete back there when there's still a sneaky athletic gym rat with a lunch pail mentality available.

Im totally fine with promoting team and program culture this way. We get a known commodity who will work hard and may contribute something in a few years (or just support the culture). I much prefer this to using scholarships on culture guys.

The rules on….. let’s say a school is at scholly max but has a shot at a killer transfer (or recruit). In theory, could they bring them in as a PWO/WO and give them enough NIL money to cover them paying for school? I have to imagine this has been thought of somewhere, but I haven’t really seen it.
