IDK who's available or what is coming in, but the catcher position is definitely our Achilles Heel.

Jarrell has the highest batting average on the team during conference play. Hardly an Achilles heel.

More than likely, that's the coach's call. I know you've probably seen a catcher come out and give signals in front of the plate when there is a man on first and third. He is relaying to the infield what the coach wants to do with the ball in that situation. Throw to 2nd, have 2nd or short cut the throw and look home, pump fake and look to throw to third, etc. So more than likely that was bakich unless he just gave him control to do what he wanted

Was going to say the same thing. People just want to hate on JJ for some reason? Just shows you the lack of overall baseball knowledge some people on the board have!

Yeah true. Smart play on their part to get in a rundown and score that run. I've seen that done several times. We used to play a team that liked to do that. I was a catcher (just recently stopped playing) and I probably would have took that out right there. I wouldn't have if it was for them to take the lead. It all just depends on the situation. Depends on the inning, trusting your offense, do you trust your middle infield and catcher, etc. I feel bakich definitely trusts his guys, so I think it was no sweat for him. Also, it all has to work out just right. Everything is not perfect in baseball lol

In my opinion it looked like he was trying to throw it down to the pitcher to try to get the runner from 3rd but there was a miscommunication. He doesn’t just bounce a throw 3 times to second. I could be wrong but that’s what I think. We’ve done it with Bakich last year

I thought at the time he was throwing back to #### and since #### doesn't follow through properly and falls off to the side, the throw went through. The throw didn't have much on it, so that's why I thought #### blew the play and not Jarrell.
