Should we care about have a Heisman winner

Clarification, do you think that having a Heisman winner will disrupt the path to an ACC title and or a national title?
I don’t
I think Cade can make a real push, especially if he totally out plays Cam Ward if we play Miami.
And Heisman moments can come against any team
Apparently, because Ashton Jeanty (Boise State RB) and Travis Hunter (Colorado) are leading it and they play inferior teams and team that are the same as ACC teams.
Since Week 1, Cade has been the most consistent QB in the country. No struggle whatsoever in any game since Georgia. While Carson Beck, Jalen Milroe, etc. have been struggling to find wins against teams like SCar, Vandy, and Kentucky.

To an extent we should care. If we had a Heisman winner we would definitely be proud of it. It is a major accomplishment. But those Natties matter more IMO. If winning Natties means that we don't have that one stand-out player but have an entire team that stands out, then so be it.

Through our dominance we had multiple players more than capable of winning it. Trevor didn’t play well enough in 2020 in my opinion.
Deshaun was a snub regardless of number of interceptions.
But only people who follow college football and who watched that 2016 title win against Bama, know that Deshaun had so much more impact for his team.
Louisville lost like 4 times that year.
Should be given to the biggest “winner” of the group, other than the guy who can hurdle people. Which Deshaun also did btw.

ESPN anoints who will win. They have anointed Cam Ward for this year. Hopefully we play Miami and can derail that. But that is how the system works and why I do not and will not own a Nissan

Lol what?
I sense you’re not too serious
Miami will lose against Louisville, and maybe 3-4 times this year. They won’t make it to the ACC Championship.
Cam Ward will be an afterthought by the time we play the scocks.
I truly think Cam Ward is immensely talented, and will definitely be a good NFL QB, but he needs to develop consistency of effort.
He gets lazy. Example was against VT and against Cal. He threw a ton of interceptions. And he won’t develop that consistency until the NFL.
He won’t be able to bring them back in every game.

To a Heisman voter CDS is a disqualifier for a CLEM candidate

…for the Heisman trophy.
I know this sounds crazy, but CDS has received repeated media criticism for his character, integrity, Christianity, commitment to his players, and love for the game, et al.
I believe Spiller, Watson, and Lawrence had more than enough credentials to win the Heisman. None of them won, but the one constant they had in common was CDS.
I just don’t think the Heisman voters want to validate CDS by rewarding one of his players with the Heisman regardless of how good their statistics are or the impact of their play.

Yes we should care. When you Google any team , you get the facts on wins, losses, Bowl games, Championships and yes Heisman winners. To some people, having a Heisman winner validates a program. I dont think Cade can beat out Travis Hunter but you never know.

Clemson: 3 championships 0 Heisman
USuC: 0 championships 1 Heisman
If that validates their program then so be it. I'll take our 3 championships over a media-biased popularity contest any day.

My coot brother no longer talks about their Heisman Trophy because I always refer to it as the trophy named after the Clemson coach.

Maybe next year. If Hunter comes back from injury it’s a 2 man race. Running back from Boise with his remaining schedule will win.

I doubt Clemson will ever have a Heisman winner because the Heisman Committee is a joke and does whatever ESPN tells them. Most of the Heisman winners will be from the SEC for many years to come because of ESPN's bias towards that conference.

Not anymore...it's been over a decade since that trophy has had any meaningful merit.
Take away the press votes and leave it up to the alumni and it will regain its significance.

I don't think he's in the picture. He'd have to perform at his current level (minus the UGA game) through the end of the season against teams with winning records. Even then, it will be tough to beat out anyone from SEC or BIG10...or Sanders.

I think it would be a nice marketing tool but if DW and TL didn't win, hard to imagine CK will. Having said that, I bet CK when he was 66-1 week 2, now he's 12-1..... So never say never.

There are things of greater importance but 1. If USuC has one we need 2. 2. With all the good fortune we've enjoyed, a Heisman is an evermore obvious omission. 3. It wouldn't hurt recruiting. I'll add, Cade comes across as one you'd hope to recieve accolades: hard working, patient, not given to arrogant behavior...

IMO the Heisman Trophy in todays pay for play football under the name of all of these brainwashing school's they call college is a wasted unless hunk of material that no longer represents the True Spirit and meaning of the man himself John Heisman.
A historical info about the Heisman Trophy.
“ The award was created by the Downtown Athletic Club to recognize "the most valuable college football player east of the Mississippi" and was first awarded to University of Chicago halfback Jay Berwanger.[2][3] The award was given its name in 1936 after the death of the club's athletic director John Heisman and broadened to include players “
I feel the Heisman Trophy is basically a so called team award and is becoming an SEC Or Big 10 Trophy.
