The offense is much improved this year and that includes play calling. Anyone else notice the QB runs or draw plays on 2nd and long though?? Drives me crazy because it sets us up for failure on third down.

Being in “2nd and long” is a direct result of failure on 1st down.
Most coaches would probably say the QB run on 2nd and long is to get into 3rd and manageable rather than 3rd and long through an incomplete pass on 2nd and long.
It’s a percentage call trying to get back on schedule after a bad 1st down play.
We fans generally love to second guess percentage plays experienced coaches call because we have that luxury.
