2025. 2 requirements for being a great recruiter.

1. We will pay you a competitive salary.
2. We will prepare you better than anyone else to play in the NFL.

The coach who can convince the guy he is recruiting that those two statements are true are the great recruiters.

Pretty spot on. And for competitors, having a chance to compete for a national title, which is something we can offer

I would disagree there. We did make the playoffs. That was cool. But we were a very long way from competing for the title. We can't really point to 2018, our last title. These high school juniors were in elementary school then. That's a long time for them.

Putting it like that, I'd love to see the NFL have to recruit in order to build their teams. And if a player decides to transfer, it's to a portal, not free agency. Can you imagine the uproar and chaos that would create.

So, let's not change college to NFL, but NFL to college. I'd bet my house it'd get fixed in no time flat.

What ashamed it came to this.

Why would the NFL ever change their business model? They're killing it and are the most profitable sport in the world, and the most popular sport in the US by a wide margin. CFB is the league that is financially struggling and collapsing.

What you described is true for some recruits but those are not the guys Dabo typically recruits at Clemson. I believe there are plenty of good players who value things like culture, graduation and PAW journey. I don’t believe Clemson has to win a bidding war but we have to be at least somewhat competitive in the NIL space.

3. Life after football. Oops the better players don’t care about that
4. Girls. Oops there’s money now so that’s not an issue any more
5. A high quality education for a lifetime. Oops college isn’t as important any more
6. Becoming a good and useful man and future good father and husband. Oops some people think men are only toxic.

Dabo may well extend his time as a developer of men of integrity and his program has had all the elements that seem to be sliding out of vogue. Sad what has become of college football and society.

3. They never did.
4. All schools have pretty girls who will swoon over a football star.
5. Most star players never attend classes in the first place. But it's not like people choosing Duke or Michigan over us are turning down the better education. lol. The players we lost this year all chose the better academic institution (Duke, Michigan, UNC, Georgia Tech).
6. Why does attending a different school write that off as a possibility?
