You can easily see the decline. Facts speak for itself.

Not surprised that the 559 strikeouts was a season high for Clemson Baseball in it's history.Wonder what is was nationally this season,I would think it was definitely Top 10 maybe even Top 5 in the nation. There are other things too but cutting down on strike outs is something that is gonna have to change if the Tigers are ever gonna win anything of importance in Baseball.

Just the facts: Clemson is not even in the top 50 in strikeouts/9 innings this year.
But Fl. State was number 1, Notre Dame #5, Virginia #6 and Miami #8.
Clemson was actually ranked 96th. Other teams with more strikeouts/9 innings are Duke, Louisville, NC State, Ga Tech, Va Tech , Wake Forest and UNC. Other notables are UofSC, Costal Carolina and East Carolina.

The teams you speak of had era's in the top 52 of the teams and were top 50ish in runs scored.

We actually were 38th in runs scored and our team era was 76th. You've got to really do a deep dive into stats.

The glaring stat - 14-0 against what turned out to be very weak competition. Then 21-23 once our competition stepped up a few notches. And just like NC State, our series w/l record in ACC was 4-6.

Hey, sorry to point out your error, but those teams you mentioned in the top ten for strikeouts per game are leaders in pitching strikeouts per game (a positive statistic). The 559 strikeouts referenced by this post are strikeouts by Clemson batters, which is a very high number and not positive.
