kicks off, we could really use an FCS opponent. I wouldn't mind seeing the Charlotte 49ers come here.
We definitely don't need another difficult opponent on the schedule. While these tough OOC games may be fun to watch, they're not the ticket to success. The only thing that matters is getting to 11-1 or 12-0. We already have FSU, SC, UGA, and Louisville on the schedule....that is more than enough to get us into a 4-team playoff with 1-loss.

Four teams Clemson faces next season: UGA, FSU, Louisville, SCar.
Before you start the verbal diarrhea about "Clemson's weak schedule", perhaps you should take a look at SCar's conference schedule in 2013. That should have been an absolute cakewalk to the SECCG if not the National Championship. I have never in my life seen such an easy SEC lineup.

that someone else now owns my lower deck season tickets in UH. You're welcome. We just didn't feel like we were getting our $$ worth anymore. We watched more competitive/better games when we attended the Orange/White games. I'm sorry guys, but our big mouths that attended every home game for many years just decided that we'd rather attend only the better games and/or watch the rest on TV, etc.

I vote App State (not that it matters). First year in the Sun Belt, shouldn't be a tough game, and not a typical opponent, but one that is local.

The playoff committee is meeting in NY and news coming out indicates the selection criteria for the 4 teams is still very much unknown. There is a chance they may even take late injuries to star players into consideration as to whether a team should be in playoffs. Also SOS may be weighted MUCH heavier.
I don't think it can hurt to add another strong opponent to the schedule. If it's a win then it's a stronger resume. If it's a loss maybe it makes for a better Clemson team down the road and prevents another loss, plus good teams on the schedule are much more interesting for the fans.

This past season Boise lost to every decent team they faced (Washington, Fresno, BYU, and San Deigo State).
With Chris Petersen leaving for Washington, I have my doubts this is going to be the same Boise team that won 11+ games each year from 2006 to 2012.

With the playoffs starting next year an SOS a huge factor a decent team might be willing to drop one of their cupcakes and play us. Trouble is getting them to come to DV, bc they would then lose a home game since the team they drop would have been coming to their field.
