Great question!!! I know it is hard to speculate that we could have someone as good as Sammy Watkins, Nuke Hopkins or Tajh Boyd, so I will concede the Sammy comparison, and maybe the Nuke one, too, but the rest of the entire offense may just be better. The positive take away is that we still too deep, and even deeper now than then, because this OL will be better, especially down the road, IMO.

Yea, if Watson is healthy and continues to progress it's hard to bet against him. Unfortunately, we haven't had the chance to see him play for even half a season consecutively so there still is a mystery factor to him.

2016 and 2017 Offense

Could rival both of them.
2016-2017
Watson, Bryant, Israel, and Cooper. Gallman, Dye, Choice, Fuller, and Feaster. Scott, Cain, Thompson, McCloud, Chase, Powell, Bell, and maybe Overton. Richard, Cannon, Williams, and Chalk. Hyatt, Fruhmorgen, Giella, Green, Pollard, Falcineli, and Hearn.

I think it breaks down like this:
QB - 2015 RB - 2012 WR - 2012 TE - 2012 Oline - even
overall slight edge to 2012, as it stands right now. In 2016 though, the offense could be legendary.

No way this O-line is even with that one

Way too much to prove on this O-line. The 2012 O-line is by far the best one we've had in this 4/5 year stretch and that's not changing this year. Maybe for 2016 it will.

Easy 2012. One of the most talented offenses we will ever have. 10 of those guys had a shot with the pros, whether that be with free agency or through the draft. And that is without Dwayne Allen. Brandon Ford, shatley, Freeman, Brown all had an free agent opportunity. And the other 6 were drafted, you should know who they are. Not to mention that is 3 offensive lineman who had a shot at the next level and that is quite a feat.

In a one game scenario, give me the 2012 offense. I mean not to put down the potential 2015 offense, you have Thomas protecting Boyd's backside, Dalton checking coverages, Andre in the back field and frisbee catching dogs in the form of Nuk, Brown, Watkins, and Ford.....That was a heck of a group!!!

Probably gonna go 2012 although I am very excited to see the 2015 crew do their thing.
Just looking at the wideouts in 2012... we have three NFL starters and one NFL backup on the 2-deep. That is nuts!

The only thing that concerns me about this offense...

it having a TE who can block. We got into more trouble last year for not having enough blocking from our TE and backup WRs. That's the fate of having so many freshman and sophmore's in those positions.

2012 team has 5 legit NFL starters at skill positions, you just don't see that often. But 2015 we have a better QB....interesting.

At this point you have to say 2012, though you could argue the ceiling of the 2015 offense is higher. You even need to say that Tajh > Deshaun right now.
Even though we all love what Deshaun did this past year, I still think we need to be cautious with him--even beyond the risk of injury. We saw him show out in part-time duty, look very good against FSU after coming in after the first qtr, and then have incredible showings against UNC & NC State. However, before being injured he looked bad against Louisville. That was his first real "uh oh, what's going on moment" and we didn't get a chance to see how he reacted to the situation. He played very well against South Carolina but he was obviously not his usual self in that game so it's hard to take much from it (outside of the incredible heart the kid possesses).
We all know the ceiling for him is almost nonexistent but he hasn't had the chance to show he's a consistent QB who can deal with the low-points. The times when things aren't coming together. The times where he's got to will the team to a win (like Tajh did against LSU). We haven't seen that yet. I'm very optimistic that he's as good as we've seen, but the jury's still out for now IMO.
