2 1/2+4+2 inches of rain the last three days here in

Orangeburg at my house. The Edisto is already beginning to flood, and more rain, much more rain, is in the forecast the next few days.

I remember several years ago, we had what was called "a thousand year rain" in Orangeburg. Nearly the entire Edisto Gardens went underwater. They had just built the boardwalk, had not even opened parts of it yet, and it was underwater. They had lights in the pond next to Russell Street, and I distinctly remember driving home from the chemical plant that night, and the lights were still on, but were under over a foot of water, giving a ghostly glow to the whole thing.

We may be headed back there again if it doesn't stop raining. I pray there is no loss of life due to the expected flooding. If you are in one of these areas, hang in there!

We just got a new liner in our pool, chemicals in and filter up and running just to find out it's supposed to rain until next Wednesday. I doubt it will stop my kids though.

It's been raining a lot out here in Colorado, too. My town had 7+ inches total in May, and is just under that amount so far in June. That's more than a whole summer's worth already. Have lived out here for 47 years, and don't recall such a rainy two months. My front yard is beyond green. :)

from Tuesday evening to Wednesday afternoon- still raining right now but radar shows a short break- worse yet, my pool turned green yesterday afternoon and has algae from end to end. Going to be fun getting that fixed.

I recall the "thousand year rain" that you're referring to. I had 27 inches of rain in 24 hours at my house in lower Richland County. We have a little weekend place on the Edisto River in Bamberg County just outside of Branchville. I've never seen the Edisto that high in my life and I was certain water was going to come in the house, but it never did.
