in the Doak in the 90's and 2000's. We were outmatched but occasionally if we put it together we got a big win! We'll see.

The Tigers won 34-23 at Tallahassee in 89. I was there with my dad. Lots of fun that day. I believe we finished 10-2 that year and won the Gator Bowl.

We didn't beat them from 1991 til 2003, when they were at the top of their game. In fact we pretty much got body-bagged every time we went down there during that time period. 2000 was the worst.

Well, that’s true and I was in Doak Campbell for that thrashing in 2000. But I’m saying their heyday started before 1991 and extended past 2003. Of course you’re going to define heyday differently, so in that respect you’ll win the debate.

No, 2000 was bad, but it was the worst. The worst would be 1993. 57-0 FSU. Their place kicker actually ran down a Clemson DB after the DB was returning a blocked PAT. Kept the Tigers from getting two points, and it showed the VAST chasm between the two programs at that time.

I’m pretty sure we did, more than once.
Obviously they were good when we beat them in Tallahassee in 1989, I was there with 2 FSU buddies and sat in enemy territory - it was great. We didn't beat them again until 2003 in Death Valley, I guess we were 0-11 in ACC matchups until then. I wouldn't use this matchup as a proxy for our chances tomorrow.

Like you, I sat amongst the FSU crowd in 2000 along with my 12 year old nephew. The thrashing the team got on the field didn’t hold a candle to the abuse we got in the stands that night. I haven’t had much respect for their fans ever since.

on the ball, at home. Literally, our Center puked on the ball to start the game. We got demolished by UGA, and it was 115 degrees in the shade. Most miserable I have ever been at a game. FSU and Bobby Bowden went downhill after that loss.

We are certainly up against it. If there is a silver lining it's that Dabo likely sees the writing on the wall also. The lack of a running game and passing defense of Texas is a combination thar would cause many a sleepless night for even the most touted offensive minds in college football.
I think it's proof enough of that by watching Dabo secure commits in the portal. By doing so now , he at least heads off the criticism of not using the portal at the pass , that would likely ensue following a defeat.
Let's hope he'll continue with this mindset because we are in need across the board.
