A long day before a long break.
So son of's birthday was yesterday. Took him to the big city after I had to work late. He wanted that all you can eat Japanese where it's got the Chinese and American food on the bars, you give them your plate with the raw materials and they cook the hibachi, the all-you-can-eat sushi bar and everyone looks like they're running a low-grade temperature.
Then we took him to his favorite place ever. Walmart
Took him to the bike aisle and told him to pick whatever bike he wanted.
Then hooked him up with a helmet, lights, etc.
Since I'm now
Off of that sweet equity now that the addition is done.
Of course Ineligible user® knows nothing about that.
got about 4 hours of sleep but I'm here and caffeinated.

When you're flush, you don't have to say it.

Which is why you never hear it from Obed. Instead, you hear things like "travel ball," "horse event," and "diamond-studded asstickler."

Why would it burst? PEX or PVC encased in concrete cannot expand. In the Southeast, where the ground never freezes, the pipe won't either. In my experience, most houses in this region only have two lines in the slab: a sewer line and sometimes a water line entrance. One of my previous homes had the water line enter through the side wall, while another had it near a corner of the slab. In either case, repairs would have been straightforward if ever needed—which they never were.
Houses built on raised slabs are vastly superior to those with crawl spaces. Crawl spaces almost always require encapsulation to prevent humidity issues. Without proper maintenance, you'll likely face mildew, rot, and damage to floor joists and beams. Moreover, many builders don’t install enough support piers, or they fail to set them deep enough. As a result, crawl space homes often experience spot settling, leading to sagging or uneven floors that will require remediation.
My current house has a crawl space, and before closing, the seller had to spend $8,000 to fix support pier issues—and he had already spent almost as much encapsulating the space and installing a dehumidifier--another piece of equipment that requires maintenance. The space also requires annual inspections to maintain the termite bond, and the upkeep of air conditioner ductwork in the crawl space is a real hassle. If I had the choice, I’d trade it for a raised slab home in a heartbeat.
