....is what ACC clarified as the reason the play was essentially over before it was called a TD.
Beats me, still feels like a ACC shaft job.

Yes, FOX showed it at halftime of their game today, with a referee in studio to explain it. He said as the receiver was trying to collect control of the ball from his back, while it was still loose, the defender laying out of bounds touched it, making it incomplete at that point.

If replay takes 5 minutes, it’s inconclusive. Period.

The replay they showed today was one I don't recall seeing last night. That look was pretty clear of what they described as the ruling. From that look, it really wasn't inconclusive at all. I understand your point about the timing, but the reality is the call on the field was wrong, and video evidence showed it, so reversing it was the correct call.
Unless they establish a time for how long you can review it, kind of like a ball on the lip of the hole in golf being limited to how long you can wait to see if it falls in, then theoretically, they can take as long as it takes to make their ruling.

The receiver was down in bounds with the ball in his hands. The touch happened later from a defender that never possessed the ball.
Tech got robbed.

The problem is he was bobbling it when he hit the ground, and as he tried to get firm control, it was touched by the defender out of bounds. It was very clear on the replay I saw this morning.

That happened to nuk. S defender was out of bounds and knocked the ball out of his hands. The right call was dead ball rather than being a turnover.
