Clemson has no need to explain or justify this. Wont change anything w the whiners anyway.

It's astonishing how good that drainage must be. And the root structure of the sod.

It’s that sand base that drains so well.

When was it EVER discussed that the game would not be played. Saw not one story before the game on that issue. Who is complaining? Again I have not seen one post or heard anything on radio or TV about this non-controversy.

It's only a few people here and there complaining about it. I only saw one or two post on here. More so on the social medias. I think they're being pi##y to just be pi##y. People are just like that, which is rather annoying.

The decision to play was the right one. People needed a respite to take their minds away from their problems if only momentarily.

Hope your power is restored asap. I worked for a utility and back in the seventies I was located in Aiken. A terrible ice storm hit, had to leave my wife and daughter for eight days without power and water. I can sympathise with anyone experiencing this difficulty.

To say Clemson and other surrounding areas (“Of course, the impacts of the hurricane are greater in the Clemson and in the Upstate than in other parts of both states”)….. isnt true AT all. Have yall seen the western parts of North Carolina? More specifically Boone where app st is located? While I’m glad Clemson got the win and all, we need to pray for everyone, not just upstate South Carolina. #beatfsu go tigers!!!!

It is true - youre not interpreting his statement correctly.

He didn’t say all parts, he said other parts of - and it’s in a paragraph referencing where other games were hosted. He already mentions App St being canceled so he’s referring to Clemson area being hit harder than areas where other games were actually played.

That is a great story but inaccurate about the Upstate being the hardest it. The mountains and most of Western NC have it much worse and have been declared a Federal disaster area. As far as people going to the game , I just hope they had an essier time finding gas than we did and everyone made it home safely before morning.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

In what universe is the upstate used to reference WNC?

I imagine the context was directed toward pi$$y critics whose favorite team plays in Columbia.

People who are not informed about the state of affairs in NC, and don't really care.

I know that I was enjoying the game by radio in the dark. My neighbor across the street was watching GA/AL on his tablet in the car. We're under curfew here in Augusta. The only way life gets back to normal is if some semblance of normal persists.

I wish that Clemson had given fans the opportunity to donate to the Red Cross for disaster relief at the game. At the very least they could have put up a QR code or something. They did that at the ND game - should have done it yesterday.

Every fan already has the opportunity to donate. Go to the Red Cross website and hit the donate button

A reminder or invitation to donate among the 80,000-ish in attendance probably would have generated a bit more in contributions than not doing it. As I mentioned they did that when we played ND should have done that last night.

I was thrilled to hear that the game would be played and excited to leave the downed trees at home! What I feared would be a kinda quiet crowd of not nearly as many people was not the case at all! There's no other place I would've rather been. The game and atmosphere was awesome!
