Wishing Shaq Anthony future success wherever he goes.

Hey, we are trying to get CC to come back and hangout

Aug 21, 2014, 12:32 PM

This ain't gonna help.

"Because at the end of the game, everyone knew that they weren’t that much better than us or better than us at all."

Agree....

Aug 21, 2014, 12:11 PM

Everyone needs to remember that we will only get a press release (at lest for now) about this and because of the class of the coaches and vast majority of our players, things like this will be handled accordingly.

There very likely are other issues at play here, whether it be grades, doghouse, family issue, or something else. Heck, maybe there is nothing else. But if there is, we're not going to hear about right away.

Well, he is kind of quitting on the team

Aug 21, 2014, 12:43 PM

Walking away with less than two weeks to go before the season starts. Taking away the only depth at OT we have. That sucks, and seems very selfish.

^ This; what happened to keeping your word?

Aug 21, 2014, 1:14 PM

Sticking with your commitment?

Is he just pissed because he was suspended for the opener and in that time saw Gore rise?

Right now he is taking the easy way out.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Maybe he got an invitation to leave.

Aug 21, 2014, 2:55 PM [ in reply to Well, he is kind of quitting on the team ]

Our coaches are just the kind of people who would ask a kid to leave if he wouldn't take to confirming a particular behavior.

Also, some times it's nobody's fault. Chit Happens!

Agree .... All about him. I am not wishing him luck. I hope this is not a trend. I am not starter so I will transfer. If we have injuries and struggle on the OL. All blame will fall on him.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think most people will wish him the best of luck but why

Aug 21, 2014, 1:19 PM

shouldn't we be pissed about a kid who's an important part of our O-line two-deep deciding to up and transfer on the eve of kickoff because he's not a "starter"?

Because its the right thing to do.

Aug 21, 2014, 1:59 PM [ in reply to I think most people will wish him the best of luck but why ]

You assume he is leaving for selfish reasons. Maybe so, but you also may be wrong. Dabo supports his decision and that's all I need to hear.

Quote from Anthony: "This is an outstanding program, but

Aug 21, 2014, 2:30 PM

I wish to make a clean start at a program where I can hopefully be a starter."

I'm sure more went into his decision than that but outwardly it looks a lot like sour grapes.

I think people would be more forgiving if this was spring ball or even May or June. It's 9 days from kickoff.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It is HIS decision. People might not like it but he has to

Aug 21, 2014, 2:13 PM [ in reply to I think most people will wish him the best of luck but why ]

do what he feels best for his career/goals. It is HIS life. not ours, and not going to get bent out of shape over something that the young man probably spent a lot of time weighing the pluses and minuses.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

There's nothing wrong with being upset.

Aug 21, 2014, 2:58 PM [ in reply to I think most people will wish him the best of luck but why ]

Clemson has invested a lot in this kid. That doesn't justify making unsubstantiated accusations.

If he was asked to leave with dignity and took that opportunity we wouldn't hear a word about it from the coaching staff.
