College is where you go to mature. Too bad he left early.

Agreed. I don't think he said anything derogatory towards

Nov 8, 2017, 5:33 PM

Clemson specifically, and either way it wasn't anything too inflammatory.

Let's not be like coots and trash the guy for his opinion.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You might want to reevaluate that statement

Nov 8, 2017, 5:35 PM [ in reply to Its also where you learn debate and that often ]

If one of your children when 17 years old left home because they thought they were not the favored child and started bashing you would you tell them "its ok Snowflake, just keep punching me in the #### till I #### blood?"

You hit it on the head morbid, in other words, he is ungrateful for the
rewards that he has received by playing at a great school with great
coaches who prepared him for his journey.

What a bunch of whiners. Grow some thicker skin will you?

The man has a right to his opinion. Just because a player isn't rah-rah all the freaking time doesn't mean you throw him under the bus.

I admire him, appreciate him and hope he continues to do well. Dammm having robots that don't speak their minds.

They are entitled to their opinions too. He is entitled to his opinion but people don't have to like his opinion. It's ironic that you are calling people out in the same way they are calling out Nuk.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You call your kid "Snowflake"?

Nov 8, 2017, 6:15 PM [ in reply to You might want to reevaluate that statement ]

That's weird.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I did reevaluate it, seriously. I also reread Nuks comments.

Nov 8, 2017, 6:17 PM [ in reply to You might want to reevaluate that statement ]

I think tnet needs to decide if our players are grown men, which is normally what is said if one makes a mistake, right? Or are they 17 year old children and the coaches are the parent, like your analogy.

What I know is scientifically the frontal lobe of the brain (the rational, logic, decision making portion) is not fully developed until 23-25 years old in males. So at the age of most of our players, the brain is driven more by emotion than logic. If he felt like second fiddle, outside of him, who cares? Its how he felt. Are you arguing he's wrong for feeling that way?

Players and programs have a mutually beneficial arrangement. Nuk directly states he asked what more could the school do for him, what more could he do there for hinself, and what more could he do for the program. He decided he was best suited to pursue bigger money and opportunities, and he was right. So what's wrong with that? Isn't that what grown ups do? Decide what best provides for them and their family?

So no, I don't see the problem. He was awesome while he was at Clemson, he was well behaved, and he moved on.

Nov 8, 2017, 7:07 PM

His comments could hurt a future recruit coming to Clemson....if he can't say
something good about his time at Clemson then he should keep his fly trap shut
and play ball for the sorry team he is on now.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That is the high road approach for sure. I don't see

Nov 8, 2017, 7:23 PM

how it hurts future recruiting though at all.

His only negative remark toward Clemson was feeling like he was 2nd. He was certainly treated that way on tnet.. it was Sammy one, Nuk two.

College players are kids. Hopkins is not. He's 25.

Nov 8, 2017, 7:07 PM [ in reply to I did reevaluate it, seriously. I also reread Nuks comments. ]

I expect more from a grown man than I do a 17 year-old.

"All those 'Fire Brownell' guys can kiss it." -Joseph Girard III

"Everybody needs to know that Coach Brownell is arguably the best coach to come through Clemson." -PJ Hall

His time at Clemson was prob between 18-21 years of age.

Nov 8, 2017, 7:20 PM

That's where his perception was formed.
Most of us feel a strong bond to Clemson bc of our positive experiences. His is just the other end of the spectrum.

His reference about a ponzi scheme is not Clemson specific, its toward college football.

We are so arrogant as fans sometimes

Nov 8, 2017, 8:24 PM

We beg and plead kids to come to Clemson. We don’t choose them...they choose us.

They all want to be the star, and when they perceive that it is not happening, they choose something else. It’s maybe a little immature, but it is human nature. Why does Nuk earn our wrath by responding to a question by telling the truth? How many players transfer over playing time, bad fit, conflict with teammates/coaches? Several a year. Sounds like Nuk is jealous of some other players, and he has used that as motivation to achieve at an exceptional level in the NFL. I say good for him.

How many star NFL players say, “I wouldn’t be where I am today if (insert University name here) hadn’t given me the opportunity to show what I can do”? Please post the video clips here. Some do love their school, but Nuk never said that he didn’t.

People leave jobs, change wives, or move cross country because they feel like they can benefit from the change. That doesn’t mean they hate their former employer, spouse or job (though some do); it just means that they made the decision to move on because it was best for them.

Nuk didn’t say “Screw Clemson”, or “I hate Clemson”. He just said that he felt he had reached his glass ceiling and was ready to move on.
