Clemson Basketball Fan Appreciation Day Set For October 20

CLEMSON, SC - The Clemson men's and women's basketball teams will

hold their 2002 Fan Appreciation Day on Sunday, Oct. 20. This

year's event will be held at the Civic Center of Anderson, and the

doors will open at 1:15 PM. The Civic Center of Anderson will serve

as the Tiger and Lady Tigers' home court until the renovation of

Littlejohn Coliseum is complete. Free schedule cards and posters

will be given away, and the first 500 youngsters (eighth grade and

under) will receive free t-shirts.

At 1:30 PM, fans will have an opportunity to meet 16th-year Lady

Tiger Basketball Coach Jim Davis and his staff, and the Lady Tigers

will begin a scrimmage. At 3:30 PM, members of the 2002-03 men's and

women's basketball teams will be available to give autographs and

have their pictures taken with Clemson basketball supporters. At

4:00 PM, fans will meet fifth-year Tiger Basketball Coach Larry

Shyatt and his staff, then the Tigers will begin a scrimmage. The

day will conclude at 6:00 PM.

Clemson fans will also have an opportunity to meet the Tiger, Tiger

Cub, Cheerleaders and Rally Cats from 3:00-4:30 PM.

The men's basketball team will hold two exhibition games at the Civic

Center of Anderson prior to its 2002-03 regular season home opener

against Wofford. The Tigers will face the Southeastern All-Stars on

Nov. 13 and EA Sports on Nov. 17. Both games will tip-off at 7:00

PM. Clemson's home opener against Wofford on Nov. 24 is slated for

4:00 PM.

The Lady Tiger basketball team opens its season on Fri., Nov. 22 in

Columbia against South Carolina. The Lady Tigers will open their

2002-03 home slate at the Civic Center of Anderson on Tues., Nov. 26

as Clemson plays host to Grambling in a 7:00 PM tip-off.
