Former Clemson defensive back Byron Maxwell is reportedly close to being traded to the Miami Dolphins with starting linebacker Kiko Alonso for draft pick compensation according to multiple reports.

ESPN reported that the Dolphins will be sending a draft pick over for the two players.

Deals can not be finalized until the start of the NFL calendar year on Wednesday and physicals will still need to be passed for the trade to happen.

Maxwell finished a disappointing 2015 season with the Eagles with 64 tackles and two interceptions after signing an enormous six-year, $63 million dollar deal in free agency.

The Dolphins are trying to acquire these two defensive impact players because their defense was fairly pedestrian with a #25 ranking in total defense last season.
