TJ Williams has seen his stock rise as much as any receiver in the country this year. He ran the fastest shuttle time (3.92) at the Nike camp in Atlanta which began to turn some heads. Coach Dabo Swinney stayed on Williams along with teammate and fellow Clemson commitment Quentez Ruffin. Williams now in turn has became a recruiter himself.
"I was trying to work on Gino Hayes. He is an extremely talented linebacker. I was in his ear just like Quentez stayed in mine. He said he is trying to get an official visit to Clemson." Williams had two catches for 28 yards in the CaliFlorida Bowl. "It was a good experience for me. I wasn't the go to guy, because we had Antoine Smith. He won Mr. Football in the state of Florida. The coaches did a good job of trying to get everyone involved." South Carolina was one of the main schools TJ Williams was being recruited by. Williams also still has a little work to do in the classroom before becoming fully qualified. "The other schools have backed off since I committed to Clemson. Quentez got a Tiger tattoo, but I haven't got mine yet. I took the ACT again in December. I feel good about it. I will have my results by the time I come to Clemson next week. Quentez and I are taking are official visits next week." Williams was one point shy of making the qualifying score the last time he took the ACT. Williams and holdover commitment Cory Lambert are the only two of the 23 commitments that are not qualified at this time.
