Schools from all across country came into South Carolina for secondary prospects such as CJ Byrd and Jamie Robinson last season. This year Fort Dorchester's Byron Maxwell will pull in offers from several top programs. Clemson has already jumped in with an early offer.
One high school coach told us that Maxwell could have been right up there with Robinson and Byrd had he been a senior. Maxwell is a shut down corner, that would fit perfectly under what new defensive coordinator Vic Koenning will run at Clemson. Maxwell blew everyone away at the Clemson camp last summer. There was not a player at the camp that he could not shut down. Maxwell is expected to camp, once again at Clemson this season. Burton Burns is recruiting Maxwell for the Tigers.
