Three-star Dorman offensive tackle
Jordan McFadden signed his NLI with Clemson Wednesday afternoon.
McFadden was one of the later additions to the 2018 Clemson class, decommitting from a Virginia Tech pledge and committing to Clemson on Dec. 9. More on McFadden... Jordan McFadden - 3-star OT - Dorman HS (S.C.) Commit since: 12/9/17 Recruiter: Jeff Scott Listed size: 6-4 290 Brings to Clemson: McFadden's film shows why there was quite the inter-ACC battle for for his services between his former commitment with Virginia Tech and hometown favorite Clemson. McFadden has combination of physicality and athleticism wanted at tackle, overmatching defenders with regularity in run and pass blocking. Assistant coach Robbie Caldwell said on Clemson's signing day show Wednesday that McFadden is also a solid athlete on a talented basketball team. Depth chart fit: While typically offensive line is a spot to redshirt, that hasn't always been the case with offensive tackles lately. Sophomores now, Sean Pollard and Tremayne Anchrum each debuted as true freshmen. Two tackle prospects redshirted last year in Noah DeHond (6-6 310) and Blake Vinson (6-4 290). If Mitch Hyatt makes a decision to go pro, McFadden could be that much more in the mix to compete for a backup role.
