Phillips first announced a Clemson offer in June and committed in August after offers reported from Alabama, Oklahoma, Florida State and Southern Cal among more Power 5 interest.

Depth chart fit: Phillips joins a 2019 class heavy on safety with fellow Peach State 4-star Joseph Charleston and 3-star prospects Ray Thornton and Lannden Zanders.
