Elite 2019 athlete Jashawn Sheffield from Saint Simons Island, Georgia (Frederica Academy) will be taking an unofficial visit to Clemson on Friday with two of his high school coaches and several teammates.
As a freshman, Sheffield had 753 rushing yards, 316 receiving yards and was named a Max Prep Freshman-All-American.
He has early national offers from Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Mississipi State, Tennessee and West Virginia.
TigerNet chatted with Sheffield on Thursday, and he is excited about his visit to Clemson.
"I am excited to meet the coaches, campus and the practice too. It will be the first time seeing a college football practice," Sheffield said. "I want to see the stadium being my first time going to Clemson."
His primary recruiter so far has been co-offensive coordinator Jeff Scott.
It is very early in his recruitment, so he doesn't have a leader right now.
"I'm pretty open," Sheffield said. "I like Florida State because I went to a lot of games there, but I'm interested in all the schools recruiting me. I want to learn about them."
His group of coaches and players plan to tour South Carolina on Saturday.
"I don't know much about them either," Sheffield said. "I know they have a brand new staff and I met Coach Mcclendon while he was at UGA."
