Former Clemson WR signs with Seahawks

by - Assoc. Editor -

A member of Clemson's 'WRU' has a new home.

Former Arizona Cardinals receiver Jaron Brown has signed a two-year deal worth $5.5 milllion with the Seattle Seahawks on Friday. Brown will compete for a starting spot opposite Tyler Lockett and Doug Baldwin (slot).

"Arizona...Thank you for the unwavering support throughout these past 5 years," Brown posted on social-media. "The desert has truly become my 2nd home. Red Sea, thanks for embracing me. Thank you to the entire Cardinals organization for taking a chance on a kid from Cheraw."

The 28-year old had a career year with 31 receptions for 477 yards and four touchdowns last season. One impressive stat is that he had only ONE DROP on 64 targets during the season.

Brown had 11 catches for 187 yards in seven games in 2016. In 2015, Brown had 11 catches for 144 yards (13.1 average) and a touchdown. In five seasons with the Cardinals, he caught 86 passes for 1,177 yards and nine touchdowns.

He was undrafted by the Cardinals out of Clemson in 2013 but made the team with an impressive display in rookie camp.
