Media talking heads can't stop reacting to
Dabo Swinney's post-game ranking comments after his team's 38-3 rivalry win over South Carolina.
ESPN personality Mike Golic Sr. heard Swinney's comments and thinks it's a little absurd. "You know who people don't want to hear from is somebody who's undefeated and going to play for probably another national championship about any complaining at all," Golic said Thursday on the Golic and Wingo show. "So while there are many that think Dabo, what he's spitting is the truth, that they're getting disrespected as a defending national champion and an undefeated team, I think most people are saying, dude, you're undefeated. You're going to be in the playoffs. You're going to beat Virginia. You're going to have a chance at another national championship. Oh, my God. I don't want to hear you complaining. I think that's most people are going to think." Swinney's recent comments got national media attention as he discussed ranking narratives. "(Today's win) is huge from a national standpoint, because obviously if we lose this game, they are going to kick us out (of the playoff)," Swinney said. "They don't want us in there anyway. We'd drop to 20, you know? Georgia loses to this very same team, and the very next day, it's, 'How do we keep Georgia in it?' We win to the team (North Carolina) that beat South Carolina, and it's, 'How do we get Clemson out?'”
