Contracts for Clemson's 9 draft picks will total over $37 million |
Clemson's nine players that were drafted in the 2016 NFL draft are projected to sign contracts totaling over $37 million and also receive signing bonuses over $12 million.
First round draft pick Shaq Lawson is expected to sign a contract worth over $10 million. According to Forbes, the NFL Rookie Compensation Pool puts limitations on the total amount teams can spend on a rookie’s first year salary and the total 4-year contract. Draft picks in the first two rounds are also much more likely to have their salaries guaranteed. Clemson's nine draft picks were the second most ever for the Clemson program and were the second most behind Ohio State (12) in the draft.
