Clemson spring practice injury updates

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney updated a number of injury situations to start spring practice Wednesday.

Defensive lineman Richard Yeargin (neck) and Dexter Lawrence will be held out of contact drills during the spring, wearing a green jersey for other drills. Offensive lineman Zach Giella will be in a green jersey today.

Kicker Greg Huegel will not compete in spring practice (knee), as well as tight end Cole Renfrow (knee), defensive end James Edwards and safety Alex Dalton.

Early-enrollee tight end Braden Galloway (foot) will miss the first half of spring practice after surgery to put a screw in his foot and they will reevaluate after spring break.

Tight end Garrett Williams (knee) is back and will compete in drills. He redshirted last season after suffering a torn ACL in spring practice and two years of eligibility left.

Redshirt freshman defensive end Logan Rudolph (shoulder) has been cleared to compete in drills as well.

Swinney added that they are holding Lawrence out of drills to heal his ankle and foot better, being "cautious."
