WATCH: Demontez Stitt "Always a Tiger" |
Time flies as it's already been two years since former Clemson basketball standout Demontez Stitt passed away.
Clemson head coach Brad Brownell posted the following heartfelt message about Stitt on Thursday morning. "Hard to put into words what Demontez Stitt means to Clemson, Clemson Basketball and myself," Brownell tweeted. Stitt played for Clemson from 2007-2011 and is the only Clemson player to start on four NCAA Tournament teams. He finished his career in the top 15 in several statistical categories, including sixth in assists (419), 10th in steals (164) and 14th in points (1,365) and was named to the school's 25-member all-time Clemson men’s basketball team in 2011. Clemson posted a tribute video on the two-year anniversary of Stitt's passing:
Former teammate Tanner Smith has a picture of Stitt in his office to remind him of the great memories he had with Stitt.
"Every day in my office I’m reminded of a man who was more than just a basketball player," Smith posted. "Demontez Stitt was a competitor to his core, a great friend to everyone he met, and the best teammate I ever had. We still miss you Buddy!"
