For accuracy I would say late in the season. It’s more on what have you done lately. In the end though they will all be taken into consideration.

I'm not saying that a quad 4 loss should be thrown out. Every game should be considered.
However.....
If you truly want the best teams in the tournament, then you have to weight the end of the season heavier than the beginning.
Just win, and it won't matter!

Yes, we lost some games we should not have lost but my gosh, we are 15-5 in the ACC. We beat the 2 teams we are tied with and beat the the team in 6th place, NC State, twice. Come on Committee, if we are not one of the best 64 teams in the country, we need to go back to just having conference tournament winners like the old days.

I think the bracket is such that our first game will be against a team we have beaten at least once ND and twice if NCSt or VT. YOu know the old line about hard to beat a team 3 times in a season. It should be interesting

It is not about being one of 68 teams.
It is about being one of 36 unless you win your conference tournament and Clemson is not one of 36 by a large margin.

Anyone who lost to Louisville (which is only 4 teams) should not make it.

I would also argue that the team we lost to was a lot better than they were at the beginning of The season. I don't think the Louisville team we played would go 2-9 in the non conference.

They've only won 4 games all season, right?

Yes to original question a loss to a quad 4 team should hurt you more later in the season than earlier. How many games has Louisville won since we lost to them? If they were and are better as you say I’d expect that answer to be greater than 0.

… long ago I was told “It’s not what you’ve done, it’s what you have done lately that counts”.
Even with the February loss at Louisville, Clemson has done well lately. Clemson is in.

It depends on the year

Some years the selection committee argues that a team should be in because of the teams they beat regardless of who the lost to, and some years they argue a team should be out because of who the lost to, regardless of who they beat.

Yes, and there is no reason to think Clemson is going to get the benefit of the doubt like UNC would.

All losses matter , it makes no difference. Same as wins. It may simply reflect on your current streak.

Correct....a win is a win, and a loss is a loss whether in November or February.
