We’re 7-0 and not ranked and Duke is 5-3 and 19th. Popularity contest.

When it falls apart at some point and we make the NIT. Then get ousted quickly this year. Then come talk to me.

I see you don't remember last season's start, swoon, snub, and failure. We started 6-0 in ACC play, too, but couldn't beat SCAR, or Loyola-Chicago, or Louisville, or Morehead State.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see CBB finally get over the hump and lead the team to greatness and long-term success.
But CBB's history has shown time and time again that a few wins does not make a season.
Last season's ACC schedule ended up being about the easiest we've ever played.
We won 9 of the 14 victories against the bottom half of the league, and only played 4 games against the top 5 teams in the league (losing 2 of those).
#9 Syracuse 1-0 #10 BC 0-1 #11 Va Tech 2-0 #12 FSU 2-0 #13 Ga Tech 2-0 #14 ND 1-0 #15 Louisville 1-1
We never beat a team above us in the standings (#1 Miami 0-1, #2 UVA 0-1) but did manage to grab games from teams we tied with for 3rd (#4 Duke 1-0, #5 Pitt 1-0), which secured a 3-seed by tie-breakers. We got two more from NCSU one notch down (#6).
And yet also managed to lose 2 games to teams in that bottom 3rd (#10 BC, #15 Louisville), and also lost games to #7 UNC and #8 WFU.

Why the He!! do teams have a big lead, start to try and sit on the ball to run off time. I've seen this numerous times when I was a SC High School Basketball Official. Why not just keep what you were doing to get the big lead, Big Mo can change in a heartbeat.

Big week!! Next up: Gamecocks (7-0) Wednesday, followed by a 7-0 TCU team Saturday. This is far from being a cream puff schedule.
