SEC going to 9 game schedule in 2026.

Note: I posted this on an FSU board. Instead of modifying it to fit Clemson and the coots, just change "FSU" to "Clemson" and "uf" to "coots" and it should be OK for a Clemson board.
9 game schedule, if true, has me thinking that 2026 may be the year the dust settles (mostly settles) on all this conference realignment stuff.
Here is my reasoning. 9 game schedule (4 home games one year, 5 the next) Consider uf. So says the TX AD. (video below)
I'm watching all this conference realignment because I'm retired and have time to do so and because, for some reason, I enjoy it. I mostly look at it for entertainment purposes - especially all the youtube videos claiming to know when the ACC will implode, which teams are going to which conferences, and The dates they will do so. Also for those videos claiming they know when the SEC and B1G will break away from the NCAA and form their own self-governing organization.
But, this The year they have 4 home games, and assuming FSU is not in the SEC, they would have to have play FSU and 2 other teams at home. When they play 5 home games, they could play FSU away and play the other two non-conference games at home.
This essentially means uf schedule would be 9 conference games, FSU home and away, and two games at home. They would only be playing teams willing to come to Gainesville. In effect they would "buy two home games. This year their 3 non conference games, other than FSU, are Miami - UCF - Samford. Samford would be the only team willing to play at Gainesville without a home and home contract.
So, seems to me like 2026 may be the year that the SEC/B1G reorganize college football into the 48 or so teams that will have their super-conference and have a 12 or 16 team playoff with no other schools eligible.
The question is, will FSU be in the SEC or B1G? Or will there be some other divisions like 8 divisions of 6 or 7 teams each and none of them be called "SEC" or "B1G"?
Or maybe the SEC will have 24 teams and each school will play 9 conference games plus 3 teams from the B1G?
Who knows? But, 2026 is an interesting date.

If that happens sadly I look for UGA to cancel our home and homes in 2029,30,32,33. LSU will probably still be played in 25 and the return game at Baton Rouge in 26.

.... I agree with you. Clemson will not be playing home and home with any school in the top 40 in the country, much less with UGA. UGA will be playing GT and 2 patsies. Clemson will be playing SC and 2 patsies.

I would hope in that case Clemson would replace UGA with Big 12 opponents like Baylor, TCU or Oklahoma St.
Nine games is a different problem for the ACC with the deal Swoffie set up with ND. Schools in some years already have 9 locked in games if it's a year they are playing ND.

Did the SEC/BIG give the NCAA a deadline or any type timeline as to when they may break away if the NCAA doesn't get their act together?

The coots won't like this. One less cupcake on their out of conference schedule. I guess Northeast Kentucky, Southern Alabama, and Central Arkansas won't be contacted.

Nah, they'll still play those cupcakes, they'll just cut their non-con P5 game (UNC the past couple years).

Yes, the 9 game conference schedule will probably cost us a 2nd SEC

This is crazy. UGA has Clemson and Ohio State noncon along with GT in 2030. Bet that doesn't stand if the SEC adds a 9th conference game.

I guess I'm an old grouch, but once again they are taking away something from college football that I like. I love the random OOC games between two schools that normally don't play. Bama v Texas was awesome last year. A big chunk of conference games get stale.
