While that may well be, that doesn't contradict anything in my post. My point is that it is highly unlikely that he's a verbal to Clemson, and it looks like Michigan has a significant if not insurmountable lead.

I think a silent to us is wishful thinking but I highly doubt that. I think he goes to Michigan. I'm happy to have Dexter Lawrence.Plus secondary help is a great need. You never know with these young guys but this one unless he visits again is not happening.

wanting to walk to class for 4 years when it is 25 degrees 60% of the time & 5 degrees every morning. If Clemson gets a visit, we should just fly him back up to Ann Arbor an make him walk around all weekend!

But we've got Dabo and preseason #1 ranking. Uncle in Anderson. If he visits Clemson, we've got an outside shot.

No, he announces at which school he will be spending his last official visit. Reportedly that visit will be to either Alabama or Clemson.

for the weekend. He still a 17-18 year kid that wants to occasionally have some fun. Does he have strong relationships with several players at Michigan? Yes. Could that be what inevitably pushes him to the Wolverines? It could. However, I wouldn't read to much into him visiting their again since he still wants to do one more official visit. Don't forget that D. Lawrence went to almost every NC State home game as an unofficial visitor. You see where he ended up.

With highs at freezing and lows in the teens he'll have a chance to freeze his ### off there this weekend. It's not for everyone.

I'm 2 hours south of Ann Arbor. It's cold, light snow falling. Lows at night 5-10 degrees, rises to mid 20's mid afternoon, but just for a couple of hours. If the wind is up it can be bone-chilling.

And I wish he would have visited Michigan this past Sunday and Monday when it was bone chilling cold. My balls may never recover. I am not a fan of the cold.

I have relatives in New Jersey and go there 3-4 times a year and live in Toronto (quiet a bit less snow then Michigan but just as cold). The two regions are not comparable. NJ gets down to 30 and gets a dusting of snow. Michigan gets down to 0 and gets feet of snow.

Serious thought

I follow Michigan a bit 'cause my wife is a Michigan grad. (We almost went to Citrus Bowl after Orange Bowl, but decided to just rest and watch it at the hotel.)
It'd be beyond me why he'd choose Clemson over Michigan. No matter where he lands, he'll definitely be in a rotation next year. But he could be a starter at Michigan. The depth at DT there is not as good as what we have here. As good as he is, I don't think he'll start immediately in his freshman year at Clemson. He'd have to compete with Huggins, Pagano and Dex for that. (I intentionally leave Watkins out.)
At Michigan, there is one DT who leaves early. There are two other DTs that I think they're pretty good, but I think Gary could beat either of them for the starting job easily.
If he decides to come to Clemson, that must be something.

I know you are talking about competition for a starting position, but come on. There is something in those hills that can't be explained or matched. Lots of reasons to choose Clemson over Michigan.

Yes, there could be lots of reasons to choose Clemson over Michigan, but it's not like Michigan is a bad program. Harbaugh is deemed to be one of the best coaches in the country. With less competition, you can get to start there right away.
Do I want him to get here? Of course, I do. But realistically I don't see it happening. That's why I said, if he indeed picks us over Michigan, it must really be something there.

If we didn't have a lot of depth at this position and Dexter Lawrence hadn't committed, I would have had a different thought.
Also, I have been to both facilities. It's not like that at Clemson is far superior. Both have great facility. I'd have felt better on our chance if he made a visit during a big stage football game like Notre Dame or Florida State. I bragged it to my wife that I feel gameday atmosphere at Clemson was better than Michigan (and two other schools that we're affiliated with). I took her to a few Clemson games and she agreed. (I still told her that games nowadays are not as loud as it's used to be when there was no smart phones and people just clapped or made noise, instead of holding up a cellphone to make a video clip.)
Right now, believe it or not, she has Clemson as her #1 team, but I guess it's because how I'm such a fanatic about Clemson.
With all that said, I'm being realistic here. If he doesn't have a love for Clemson to begin with (like being a fan since childhood), I don't see why he'd favor us over Michigan, especially they have a lead until now still.

Number 1 player in the country. #1!
I doubt he's afraid of competition and playing on the defensive line with other great players, he would not be double and triple teamed EVERY PLAY!
Last I checked we were #2 in the nation and have a great defense and defensive coaching staff led by BV.
Michigan is 12 and their defensive coordinator is a brand new OLD GUY with 10 grandchildren that's 60 years old and may not be there in 4 years..

Maybe Harbaugh spent the night with him in his tree house or they had a slumber party.

at Gary's house or maybe CH had ice cream and cake specially delivered with little goal post and miniature Michigan football players on the cake. Or maybe he sent a life size cut out of himself that yells out every 5 mins "play for Michigan ". I wonder if Coach Harbaugh is good for college football. I would think satellite camps would violate NCAA rules or his suggestion to have training camp in Florida. If he has not had any recruiting violations IMO he is certainly borderline.
One thing he most likely is doing is driving up recruiting cost. PS: Coach Harbaugh not ever school is like Michigan and Texas with money to burn.
As for the kid who had his schollie pulled at the last min should be good for one butt kicking of Harbaugh by this kid! The NCAA needs to in act a rule to protect recruits as well as the school. If a kid committed 12 months ago he should be bound by that commitment if it is within 30 days of signing day. Same goes for the school.

They just need to let him know not to befriend any other recruits while there, because there is a good chance they get their offer pulled before signing day.
