Will be my first trip to Fenway, does anybody have any pre-game destination suggestions?

No, but don't forget to dress warm. If you're in the sun it'll feel nice, even warm at Fenway. But, if you're sitting in any sort of shade, it's pretty chilly. The wind off the harbor makes it ridiculously cold for games in May, June, July.

Thanks, the game is at night, so I better bring a pretty heavy sweatshirt. I never would've thought of that

You don't need a heavy sweatshirt in June. Unless you get unlucky and catch a front coming through (which would be clear days in advance) night temps will dip into the mid-60s. Fenway's like 4 miles off the harbor and most of the bad wind coming in is broken up by downtown and back bay. I was literally there last night and it was mid/low 50s with a very light breeze.

Trust me, I've been to Fenway in July when temps during the day time dropped into the 60's.
Been to around 15 games at Fenway. Unseasonably warm is anything above 60 at night in June.

have never worn more than a tshirt and shorts lol. If you like almanacs, the avg over night low in Boston in July is in the mid to upper 60's.

Dude I live here and have for 7 years now. I'm well aware of what the weather does. Mid/high 60s at night in June/July is standard, not unseasonably warm.

Yep, temps will probably be in the 60's, or even 50's once the sun goes down. Dress warm, like Clemson vs. South Carolina game warm. Enjoy it, Fenway is legit.
P.s. please get some peanuts. They throw them at you from pretty long distance... you'll see when you get there.

I live in Boston and (sans 2020) have gone to anywhere from 10-15 Sox games a year since 2017 and could not disagree more. If your definition of "ridiculously cold" is 65 degrees maybe this makes sense, but typically Fenway in June/July is 75-85.

Night time also? I only travel with carry-ons and if I don't need to bring winter clothes, I don't want to.
Is there a cool bar or a restaurant in the area you recommend? I've only been to Boston once and it was a long time ago. I don't remember much at all.

As long as you're not the type to find 60 frigid you'll be fine with nothing more than a light jacket/sweatshirt at most.
As for bars/restaurants it's really dependent on what you're looking for/how much you're willing to spend/where you stand on the "best canoli's" argument, etc... There's a bunch of stuff on Landsdowne right by Fenway that's pretty standard sports bar type stuff. My favorite over by Fenway is either Cask n' Flagon or Beer Works, though both are pretty popular (and touristy) so they'll be packed pre-game.

Though actually now that I think about it I don't think Beer Works survived the pandemic so that's not a useful suggestion.

In June, at night it's not 75, much less 85 degrees.
That time of year anything above 65 at 7:00 is practically a heat wave.

The Cask 'n Flagon sports bar is close to the stadium and called the top sports bar in the nation by ESPN. A place called Eventide has great seafood. I live in Maine, and I don't think it will be cold there at all. Perfect time to go.

Mediqtiger ….went to Boston last summer, drove up to southern Maine coast (York area) just for a day trip. We thought it so nice and want to go back and stay in Maine. What part of coast, town would you recommend ?

Seats are small, sightlines terrible, and you gotta deal with the Boston fans.
I get its a historical park and all, but probably my least favorite place to see a game.
Enjoy it though!!

If you get the opportunity, take the Fenway Tour during the day. Well worth the $8 or so they charge.
