I don't get why some "fans" are upset with a noon kickoff vs. Jawja....

there was a time--a magical time--when we kicked off at noon against Jawja in the Valley, kept Herschel out of the end zone, beat Number 4 Jawja 13-3 and went on to win a natty. A real fan would know this.

As I research, it was indeed a 1pm kickoff......but hey, I was all of 6 years old at the time, come on!

so do games at 7 and 8.
3-6..that is the sweet spot. Can get some tailgating in and still get home on the same day.

Who were some of the teams that traditionally played night games? Florida State and LSU come to mind but I know there are a few others that liked the night kickoffs.

It's more of a mindset that prime time games are the most important games.
I will watch Clemson if they kick off at noon or 10 p.m. I lived part of the last two seasons in England so I would stay up until WHATEVER time to see them live. Trust me, I loved seeing Clemson kickoff at noon Eastern because I was watching them at 5 p.m.
Feels like a slap in the face by ESPN like this game is an afterthought, like Clemson won't keep it close so they can throw it away as a nooner. If we show up and Georgia has some glitches, I will enjoy hearing ALL DAY about how Clemson is back!

Last noon kickoff against UGA was in Death Valley, temperature was 116 degrees and was as big a mismatch and I remember seeing in the Valley. That was the offseason where Tommy had the ingenious idea that Clemson would become an under center power running FB team just by saying we would i guess. Tommy Sharpe puked on the football while preparing to snap the 1st play of the game. What a nightmare that season was
