Clemson coaches will be seeing triple the doubles when fall camp starts next August.

The Tigers added Florida twins Kaleb and Kelby Bevelle as walk-ons a few years ago, and that duo will be redshirt seniors next season. The twin sons of Clemson great Jeff Davis – Jedidiah and Judah – earned a scholarship and will be juniors next season.

On National Signing Day, twins James and Jacob Edwards signed letters of intent to become preferred walk-ons as well and will be on campus in June.

Of course, Clemson football is no stranger to twins - Peter and Andy Ford played cornerback on the 1995 squad and Byron and Brandon Clear played for Clemson up until 2010.

The Edwards brothers hail from Vestavia Hills, Alabama, and will endeavor to earn a spot on the defensive line. James (6-3, 240 pounds) says he plays with speed, while Jacob (6-3, 245 pounds) says he can play with speed if he’s coming off the edge but can also play with power if he’s on the inside at defensive tackle.

Last year, James Edwards finished the season with 24 tackles, including seven for loss. Jacob finished with 14. The Edwards brothers also wrestle, and James won the Class 7A individual title at 220 pounds.

They are also former teammates of redshirt safety Nolan Turner, and decided to follow Turner’s lead and attend head coach Dabo Swinney’s camp last June.

“We came to camp last summer, and we did pretty well at the camp,” James told TigerNet. “We loved the whole campus, and after camp, we would explore the entire campus with our parents and looked at everything and thought it was awesome. We knew it was a place we wanted to be.”

The Edwards’ twins then set in motion a chain of events that landed them in Clemson.

“I emailed with Brad Scott and then I got a letter to come to a game and we did that,” James said. “And then we got a letter that Coach (Dabo) Swinney was giving us a chance to walk on. We signed on National Signing Day and we will be on campus in June. This is huge for us. We obviously have been with each other our entire lives, so to be able to play with each other is huge. “

Jacob said he also fell in love with everything Clemson has to offer.

“The environment there at Clemson is great. It’s perfect for us,” Jacob said. “It has a lake, and everything is right there, or it’s a short ride in the car. Everybody is friendly. It’s the perfect spot, and getting to play with my brother is the best part.
