So what exactly is the point

Mar 8, 2014, 7:42 PM

Of the red light behind the glass? The ruling is based on the time left on the clock when the ball is released. Fine. So what is the effing point of the red light notification? I guess to warn everyone in Littlejohn that you're about to be royally screwed.

What that d@mn red light signifies:

"Attention Clemson fans! The red light in the backboard went off and if the opposing player makes the basket it will count. It doesn't matter if the shooter is indecisive, makes a pumpfake or two even though no one is within 4 feet of him... it doesn't matter! It will count! Remember: This isn't Duke or UNC. If so, a review will take place and 5.9 seconds will be added to the clock for a final shot by said teams. And if the then final shot isn't made by the Duke or UNC player, a final review will be made and a foul/technical foul/flagrant foul/all of the above will be accessed on the opposing team until the Lucifer Spawns or the Swoffy Shortbussers have enough points to win the game. You're Clemson, so disregard any preferential treatment certain teams "might" (wink wink) get in the ACC. See you at the ACC Tournament. We'll find some way to match you up against FSU! Expect a well-officiated game if you advance past that game. Not!"

Stupid light!

nice rant bro!

sarcastically true...100% guaranteed 50% of the time ;)

seems quite one-sided against our favor typically.

That red light was just added to add color to the score. I thought that everyone knew that. ;) And its there to let opposing teams to know that they a have a few more seconds to shoot the ball.

I am still trying to figure out why the officials defaulted to the shot clock on the other side of the court, and not the one staring the shooter in the face.
