This morning before I left for work I got out the brine solution I cooked up last night - garlic, pepper, rosemary, thyme, salt, cane sugar, sage, etc in Chicken broth. Cleaned the turkey put it into a brine bag and filled it with some more water to get to the top. Sealed it up. Made the mistake of asking my wife to help my put it in the fridge. I was trying to hold it upright and just needed her to lift the bottom up a little to level it out and give it a flat surface to rest on. As we slid the turkey in she decides it's not far enough back and proceeds to shove it - causing the ziplock seam to bust open and dumping what was luckily only about a cup of brine all over the fridge. Of course, it's salmonella city in there so it's got to be cleaned. And since I don't want any food poisoning I choose to clean it.
But anyway, ended up clearing a little dorm fridge in the garage out and putting it in there - so should be good to put on smoke tomorrow morning.
