Other than ND who will be our toughest game in 2020

Jan 24, 2020, 5:20 PM

I say FSU.

Louisville and UVA honorable mention.

By the time we get to ND we will know how good both teams are.

The Spring Game.

Other than the spring game, I agree with FSU

You'd think with a new coach and a lot of talent they might be able to field a competitive squad. I don't follow their recruiting, but they have been killed by a lot of injuries on their OL the past 2 years. If they can get better in the trenches, they have a shot to be a decent team.

Louisville is worth watching as well. Satterfield is doing a good job on rebuilding that train wreck.

Agreed. We will not have a tough game next year. Our toughest opponent will be ourselves. Go Tigers. God I miss football.

Fighting off the injury bug!

Jan 24, 2020, 6:22 PM

Losing the wrong player at the wrong time can change everything. And...MARK MY WORDS...the day that happens will be the day many will clamor for CFP expansion. Does anyone think, had Brice not come through versus Syracuse, that Clemson wouldn't have been one of the truly best 4 teams, but could have been left out? That single issue, as much as anything, plus the money involved, is why expansion will happen.

1. ND
2. UNC -Coastal Champ -Howell is real deal
3. FSU- 2nd most talented roster in ACC
4. UVA - 2nd best coach in ACC
5. Coots - Think their D will be pretty solid
6. Louisville
7. NC State
8. GT - Hopefully they start moving up this list in next 2 years
9-13 - The rest

I’d be shocked if Louisville was below uva and the coots. Uva lost a qb who was like 90% of their offense and as we saw in the acc title game they weren’t that good anyway.

But Brice did come through. Clemson was the winner that day

because of recruiting, in game adjustments and player development.

Except for Notre Dame, Boredom will be biggest challenge

Jan 24, 2020, 9:24 PM

Completely crappy opponents. ND senior QB Book may bring some moxy. Ga Tech, Louisville, and UVA will attempt to compete with well-coached improving teams completely lacking in 4 and 5-star talent.

The only questions are:

1) How soon Clemson will move below Ohio St and SEC top guns? It won't be long.

2) Also, where will Clemson go to semis? Pasadena or New Orleans? IMHO Clemson plays SEC champ in New Orleans and Ohio St plays #4 in Pasadena. Winners to Miami.

End of season could be pretty strong to make our case for #1 overall seed.

ND - Top 5 to 10 - 8-0 or 7-1
Coots - 6-5 or 7-4
UNC - Top 20 9-3 or 10-2

Compared to this past year we should have some decent matchups towards the end of the season.

It would be pretty cool if we went to the Rose Bowl though.

I would prefer to go to the Rose Bowl. Because we have not had much luck in New Orleans

What team that totally sucks will give Clemson a challenge

Jan 25, 2020, 10:44 AM

because Clemson plays crappy that day?

besides ND you got no opposition. Just have to develop, rest and rehab as needed.
