Honor the flag today. It stands for a principle that has had

Jul 4, 2020, 10:43 AM

tons of blood shed over the centuries to preserve. As has often been said, Freedom is not free. Yes, this country has problems, it is FAR from perfect. But, it is the closest that Man has yet come to that ideal.

It could be and is in the majority of the world. Never take for granted the peace we live in.

It represents the freedom that we have in America, and I do without a doubt believe that everybody born in this country, or has become a citizen of this country, they share every right and freedom as any American that has fought to keep our country safe from all enemies foreign and domestic, respect it!!!

There are a lot of inspirational & reflective memorials in DC.

One of my most memorable is the Korean War memorial. I saw it on a rainy, foggy spring morning around 7 am before my conference started. Another work associate and I took cab down to the Mall to see the Lincoln Memorial. We were unaware as we approached the stunning statues of the US soldiers trudging through a field. The fog and misty rain added to the almost surreal experience _ especially since it was so unanticipated.

Korean War vets are sometimes forgotten. One I knew well recently passed. Always picked up Charlie’s tab at Beef’s on Veterans Day and the 4th. Sad he’s not with us _ but not forgotten.
